Open letter from Executive Director: C.F. (Clay) Thompson
The Dr. Noble Irwin Regional Healthcare Foundation is “people-centered;” We understand that the Foundation is rooted in its ownership by the community helping break the boundaries of fragmentation that prevent sustainable impacts; helping us meet the needs of sustainable development, by being strategic and agile while working together with you to forge new paths empowering philanthropic habits for the future needs of all.  By listening to our donors and fundraising volunteers; by asking and listening the Foundation has been able to motivate and manage our volunteers to make them feel connected with the Foundation. Together by being able to integrate all fundraising channels we are creating a proactive stewardship program for our donors and their gifts.

Stewardship has been the Foundation’s best practice in receiving both internal and external attention. Our donors are always well-informed and the Foundation is at the forefront of Southwest Saskatchewan’s ability to manage relationships with the people of our region. The Board of Directors- volunteers from across Southwest Saskatchewan- signature is innovative stewardship; Ideas that have generated multiple opportunities for your involvement as a vital contribution to build on. The professional development and networking events, created by all those who have contributed over the last decade, shows the importance of investing in moving the Foundation forward. It is in our ability to maintain donor and community confidence, manage change and resistance while encouraging fresh approaches to fundraising the Foundation has been able to identify needs and explore all aspects of projects both near and long-term.

Social networking has become the latest donor/ prospect engagement tools.  The Foundation has always prided itself in building a loyal, long-lasting and meaningful relationship with our benefactors. While enhancing relationships through thoughtful communications, stewardship, and recognition programs we have built a trust factor by providing exceptional concierge service to our benefactors. Compassionate philanthropy has led the Foundation to become a leader in Southwest Saskatchewan by improving the quality of healthcare excellence to all.
The Foundation has become an “influencer” believing together we can work toward creating a centre of healthcare excellence for all. That nothing is impossible. By combining the remarkable insights of our donors we have applied strategies for changing both thought and actions making the most difficult challenges faced by the Board of Directors recognizable to all. Today with new high-leverage behaviors that have led to rapid and profound changes the principles to its strategic planning process are in place:

Internal newsletters, external publications, annual reports, internet web site, strategic communication planning multimedia productions, special purpose communication, special purpose communication, fundraising and, are at the top level of achievement in the field of healthcare resource development especially, to those that live in Southwest Saskatchewan.

Throughout the continuing pressures on healthcare revenues, healthcare expenses, and the community in general it has been the Dr. Noble Irwin Regional Healthcare Foundation Inc. that has met the
challenges and, made them opportunities for our donors. The Foundation continues to show all Southwest Saskatchewan that together we can make a difference in the life cycle of healthcare.  None of what has developed over the last ten years could have been possible without you.

With the constant demand for professionalism in fundraising to support an increasingly over burdened healthcare system, and an increasingly sophisticated donor population the Foundation must meet the emerging competencies needed by current and next-generation practitioners. We cannot do it alone. The ideas generated from the community of Southwest Saskatchewan create an infectious passion for all who work at the
Dr. Noble Irwin Regional Healthcare Foundation. The work that is done at the Foundation we hope will inspire you and remind you of your passion, mission, and forging new paths to health care philanthropy.

Sincerely,

C.F. (Clay) Thompson
Executive Director
Dr. Noble Irwin Regional Healthcare Foundation Inc.

The Foundation is an autonomous and volunteer-led organization, the sole purpose of which is to raise funds to help improve the quality of healthcare for the people of Southwest Saskatchewan.

The funds raised by the Foundation are primarily directed toward the purchase of equipment and support of programs and scholarships.

The Foundation does not raise operational funds for the Cypress Health Region.

Foundation Board Members are volunteers and receive no remuneration for their service.

All donations, bequests and in kind gifts for acute, long-term care, home care services and endowments are accepted by the Foundation and, invested as designated by donor.

All donations maybe designated toward any health facility, service or department of the Donors choice or may be made in support of the Foundations endowment, equipment, operations (which include programs) or general funds.

The Foundation has four endowment funds: the equipment, education, operational (including programs) and general endowments.

The Foundation will not raise funds for any project or portion of a project which is eligible for government funding, nor will it replace funds that are available for any project through the budget of the Regional Health Authority.

The Foundation has invested your donations in significant purchases including dialysis unit, digital mammography suite, cardiac monitoring equipment, Southwest facility lab equipment, CT scan upgrades, ultra sound, equipping the new regional hospital, as well as supporting equipment purchases for the other 19 healthcare facilities.

The Foundation also invests in the education, training and upgrading of skills for health care professionals through donations to every health care facility in the Cypress Health Region.

The Foundation has four ongoing programs: In Memoriam Giving, Planned Giving, Honouring Our Heritage and Pay It Forward (Endowments). We also accept donations in celebration of birthdays, anniversaries etc.

It will take a concerted, ongoing partnership with all sectors of the community of Southwest Saskatchewan to meet existing health care needs and ensure the quality of health care we are entitled to expect will be available when we need it.

Many groups and organizations present fundraising activities throughout the year to benefit the Foundation. We are extremely grateful for their support and efforts to help improve the quality of health care for our residents.

If it seems the Foundation is always raising money, it is only because we are! In a small sparsely populated area it takes a lot of work to raise millions of dollars. Much of the money raised by the Foundation comes from outside the region and province, and a great deal is generated through bequests. But it is work that directly benefits each and every one of us. Together we can make a difference. All funds raised go towards creating a centre of healthcare excellence in Southwest Saskathcewan.
