-MAZING
The only one not supporting the first annual A-Mazing Family Weekend, August 16 - 18, 2002, appeared to be Mother Nature. Rain, cold temperatures and strong winds didn't manage to dampen the spirits of the more than 1,500 people enjoying the festivities.
The Dr. Noble Irwin Healthcare Foundation event, sponsored by Sask Energy and hosted by the Swift Current Mall, generated $29,500.00 in support from all sectors of the community.
Corporate teams braved the elements to challenge the Maze late Friday afternoon raising thousands of dollars to help purchase medical equipment for regional health care facilities.
Fortified by a delicious steak supper, prepared by Sask Energy volunteers, a group of truly brave souls huddled together to enjoy Bakersfield who where eventually forced from the stage due to plummeting temperatures.
Saturday, "went to the dogs" who strutted their stuff in the Huggable Muggable Mutt contest, sponsored by Horseshoe Veterinary Clinic, while families played in the Maze.
Sunday, the children took center stage and lined up to enjoy carnival games. The most popular proved to be the Swift Current Mall Sandbox Treasure Hunt and the watermelon-eating contest. The high winds didn't deter anyone from enjoying a great performance by the Sisters or the final day to venture through the Maze.
What made the event so special was the support of corporate sponsors, generous donors, unbelievable volunteers and enthusiastic participants.
Once again, thanks to the A-Mazing committee, we have proven that by working together we can make a difference when it comes to improving the quality of health care for the people of Southwest Saskatchewan.

Can you guess why our corporate challenge team
was called "Smiley Pants"?
